My friend and ex-colleague Ago

First, there was my friend and ex-collegue, Ago who inspired me with his blog. He regulary sent me articles about branding and people. (www.brandingthroughpeople.com) I started reading and got hooked.

Next, I found out about google reader and how to subscribe to feeds through RSS. This sounds all very techy but it isn’t. It is like creating your own newspaper with newsfeeds, you selected. A very time saving proces to keep updated with the things that important for you. And you are the editor of what you will be reading.

Then, I got interested in the idea of creating my own blog. Indeed some people have the need to write, create and share. It is the fundamental need of selfrealisation, my shrink would say.

 

And I went and asked for tips. I visited professional designers and webcreators. They asked a fair budget to do all this for me. But since the financial and economic crisis also hit me, I had to pass. Until I found ”the roadmap to become a blogger” by Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwickon my way. Reading that free paper was quiet confronting for me. Some fundamental questions came up, like: “What is your passion?”

I read the whole paper and re-read it. Together with the roadmap, I also watched the 10 free video’s on how to set up a Blog. After seeing these video’s, even my grandmother would be able to set up a Blog. I could never imagine it was so easy.

And Yes, I subscribed to the newsletter of Yaro and Gideon. And, I must admit, those guys are pretty active in keeping me busy. I made a selection of the best topics sofar.
